Non-point Education for Municipal Officials, or NEMO.

Stormwater runoff pollution, often called non-point source pollution or NPS, is the biggest water quality problem facing the United States. As rain (also called stormwater) falls on developed landscapes (roofs, roads, driveways, etc.) and runs over the land, it picks up various pollutants such as sediment, fertilizer, oil, trash, etc., and carries those pollutants into our lakes, streams, rivers and oceans. This is referred to as nonpoint source pollution.

Texas NEMO staff work to raise awareness of stormwater runoff pollution, and work one-on-one with communities to find solutions to their NPS problems.
